Big Rideau Lake Houseboats has been in operation since 1996, we are  located in the Heart  of the Rideau Lakes & Rideau Canal Waterway  on  the largest of all the Lakes the Big Rideau Lake  Portland Ontario ,The best location to start your waterway getaway from, immediately upon arrival are the spectacular panoramic  veiws  and crystal clear waters we are renowed to have on the Award Winning #2  UNNESSCO  World Historical Site of  Rideau Lakes & Rideau Canal  Waterway , Within minutes of  our marina you can be  swimming, fishing, touring in the  kayaks to watching  turtles sun bathing and numberous wild life who also enjoy  this unique tranquil  environment.   Prepare a meal with your catch of the day on the gas  BBQ , and relax onboard & anchor in a quiet bay for the afternoon, dock for the night at the many historical locks along the way with many islands, hidden bays, fish sanctuaries, hundreds of miles of picturesque lakes & canals. We offer two complimently  single Kayaks for each houseboat vacation to explore the wonderful  wildlife sanctuaries which you can only experience by kayaking into these shallow waters .   There are historical towns in very tranquil settings along the way, offering excellent restaurants, shops, groceries & bait stores. Every town is unique, all renowned for excellent services to visitors. You will know at the end of your vacation, why Rideau Lakes waterway is named the # 2  UNESSCO waterway in the world.

The Rideau Canal and Lakes water way is 202km long, and joined via a very sophisticated locking system between Ottawa, the capital city of Canada, and the city of Kingston. The very helpful  lock personal are always there to help transition your vessel through the locks .
